Supporting Womenswear Design Manager with the end-to-end design process for womenswear and coaching of the wider team to deliver outstanding results.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Supports the design process, including:
•
Researches and creates moodboards to identify new trends for the up coming collections
•
Hold design meetings (when design lead is on annual leave) & regularly presenting to the teams
•
Attend sign off meetings with design lead presenting product to co-founders & other stakeholders
•
Organise and attend design & factory trips
•
Designing and developing samples on trips
•
Develops ideas for all product categories
•
Working with the design lead identifying best sellers / slow sellers – coming up with ideas for move ons / re colours / identifying missed opportunities etc
•
Sources fabrics and trims with factories
•
Create sketch technical drawings and CADs
•
Advising the junior members of the team with technical advice
•
Work out print placements and set up tech packs for factory
•
Brief freelance designers
•
Chase through new branding with factories
•
Work closely with senior designer on the menswear department
•
Works with the social team to collate new ideas and feedback on design ranges for further development
•
Assist on special projects i.e collaborations
Supports the technical process, including:
•
Maintain the critical path throughout the design process
•
Chase through samples with the factories on a daily basis
•
Attend fit sessions and comment for any improvements or amends
•
Update workbooks with fit comments
General office and design duties, including:
•
Keep fabric swatches, trim samples and fit samples organised
•
Review samples regularly to add to Depop box
Requirements
•
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, CAD, Photoshop, Adobe & Illustrator
•
Confidence and ability to work at fast pace, creating sketched CADs and technical drawings for factories, setting-up print placements for factories
•
Trend-focused with an eye for detail
•
Capable of working autonomously and making strong creative decisions
•
Flexible working approach, diligent and able to adapt to the needs of the team
•
Great understanding of the Jaded London brand and customer
•
Strong Team player and passionate for the brand and its success
•
Great management skills /coaching junior members of the team
