Education * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferably in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance); Master’s degree a plus. Experience * 5–15 years of relevant experience in roles such as Independent Advisor, Registered Representative, Securities Portfolio Manager, Financial Planner, or Certified Public Accountant. * Extensive experience in building relationships, mentoring, and managing Wealth Advisors, including: + Guiding advisors to achieve their potential. + Fostering a collaborative culture. + Evaluating performance and recruiting talent. + Ensuring clear, consistent communication. * 3–5 years in a lead Advisor role or managing Advisor teams preferred. Certifications & Licenses * Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required. Acceptable alternatives: Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Investment Consultant (CIC). * Series 65 license required (or qualifying exemption based on designation and state requirements). Skills & Competencies * Advanced knowledge of financial products, planning concepts, and industry trends. * Strong communication and presentation skills; able to explain complex investment, tax, and planning strategies clearly. * Deep understanding of economic trends and their impact on clients and the firm. * Proficiency with financial planning software. * Proven leadership in training, coaching, and mentoring junior employees; drives planner development and seeks new leadership opportunities. * Ability to identify process improvements and propose solutions. * Sales aptitude and experience preferred. * Entrepreneurial mindset with a positive, growth-oriented attitude. * Strong understanding of Mercer’s investment strategies and ISG; capable of asset allocation and portfolio analysis. * Comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements. * Ability to travel up to 50% for client meetings, training, and company events.
