About the role
The COST (Cost Optimization, Strategy, and Technology) team within Ops Tech Solutions (OTS) Delivery is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to build and own the data products behind its cost work. The COST team delivers cost visibility, savings governance, and free cash flow improvement across a global RME and IT Operations cost base.
Within COST, our team finds savings opportunities, checks whether savings are real, and gives leaders the cost reporting and comparisons they use to make decisions.
You will work with program managers and leaders who use your work to make cost decisions. You take data from our shared data platform and turn it into dashboards, datasets and analysis that people can trust. We use generative AI day to day, alongside SQL and dashboards.
Responsibilities
Key job responsibilities
•
Build and own dashboards, datasets and reporting that leaders use to understand and manage cost
•
Analyze spend data to find trends, anomalies and savings opportunities, and explain what you find to non-technical audiences
•
Build the data and checks that show whether savings have actually been delivered
•
Automate the team’s own manual work, including with generative AI tools, so program managers spend less time on reporting
•
Work to the team’s priorities, and say early when you think a different piece of work would matter more
•
Validate your outputs against source data and business logic, and fix issues at the cause
•
Document your products so others on the team can run them
•
Work with engineering partners on data sources and data quality
A day in the life
No two days are the same. You might check a data refresh, work with a program manager on whether a spend change is a real cost signal, build a new view for a leadership review, or work through a data issue with an engineering partner. Travel up to 10%.
