8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles with a strong software engineering foundation
Deep, hands-on AWS expertise — able to architect complex multi-region, multi-account environments from first principles
AWS Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent practical depth
Expert-level Terraform; experience with Atlantis or similar GitOps workflows for infrastructure
Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar — comfortable writing production-grade automation, not just scripts

About the company
Cerebras Systems builds the world’s largest AI chip, 56 times larger than GPUs. This architecture allows Cerebras to deliver industry-leading training and inference speeds; over 10 times faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference services.
This order of magnitude increase in speed is transforming the user experience of AI applications, unlocking real-time iteration and increasing intelligence via additional agentic computation.
Cerebras works with the leading model labs, global enterprises, and cutting-edge AI-native startups. OpenAI recently announced a multi-year partnership with Cerebras, to deploy 750 megawatts of scale, transforming key workloads with ultra high-speed inference.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate the AWS infrastructure that powers Cerebras’ products and platform. This is a high-ownership, hands-on role at the intersection of infrastructure engineering and reliability — you will architect scalable cloud systems, drive infrastructure-as-code practices, and partner with engineering teams to ensure our production environment is fast, resilient, and secure as we scale.
Responsibilities
•
Architect and operate core AWS infrastructure: VPCs, EKS/ECS, IAM, networking (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, PrivateLink), and data services (RDS, S3, ElastiCache).
•
Own the reliability posture of cloud workloads — define SLOs, error budgets, and runbooks; lead incident response and durable root cause remediation.
•
Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and GitOps pipelines; eliminate manual provisioning entirely.
•
Design and implement multi-account AWS organization strategies (AWS Organizations, Control Tower, SCPs) for security and cost governance.
•
Instrument cloud infrastructure with comprehensive observability — metrics, tracing, alerting, and cost visibility using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch.
•
Drive automation for provisioning, scaling, patching, and lifecycle management to eliminate toil.
•
Partner with security, networking, and platform teams on cloud security architecture, identity federation, and network reliability.
•
Evaluate and adopt AWS-native and third-party tooling to improve developer experience and infrastructure efficiency.
Qualifications
•
8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles with a strong software engineering foundation.
•
Deep, hands-on AWS expertise — able to architect complex multi-region, multi-account environments from first principles. AWS Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent practical depth required.
•
Expert-level Terraform; experience with Atlantis or similar GitOps workflows for infrastructure.
•
Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar — comfortable writing production-grade automation, not just scripts.
•
Proven experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred) — cluster lifecycle, networking (CNI, service mesh), and workload reliability.
•
Deep understanding of AWS networking: VPC design, peering, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, security groups, and NACLs.
•
Experience with AWS IAM at scale — role design, permission boundaries, OIDC federation, and least-privilege enforcement.
•
Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and deploying AI-assisted automation for triage, incident response, or operational workflows.
•
Strong incident command skills — you’ve owned production outages end-to-end and written the postmortems.
Preferred Qualifications
•
Experience with AWS cost optimization at scale (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot orchestration).
•
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) in a cloud context.
•
Experience in GPU/ML infrastructure or high-performance compute workloads on AWS.
•
Proven track record of running on-call rotations, defining SLOs, and driving operational maturity in a fast-moving environment.
•
Experience supporting highly technical engineering populations where uptime and speed both matter.
