• Experience with an older adult population an asset
• Strong customer and resident service skills. Experience in a high paced customer service setting an asset
• Flexible and willingness to learn new tasks
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to quickly changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English (other languages an asset)
• Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• Adheres to established department policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control
• Participates in facility meetings and attends in-service education programs as assigned
• Knowledge or willingness to learn environmental cleaning, laundry, and related processes including assisting residents with organizing and tidying their room, supporting with meals, 1:1 recreational activity, sorting and labelling resident items.
• Ability to stand, walk, squat, reach, lift for significant periods throughout the shift.
