Job Description:
The Floor Care Specialist is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-preserved flooring throughout KCG’s production, warehouse, and facility spaces. This position focuses on the daily and restorative care of polished concrete, epoxy-coated floors, and other industrial hard surfaces while operating specialized floor care equipment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with commercial or industrial floor care and takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and highly functional facility spaces.
Responsibilities:
•
Maintain polished concrete, epoxy-coated, VCT, sealed tile, and other hard surface flooring throughout the facility.
•
Operate industrial floor care equipment including ride-on and walk-behind scrubbers, sweepers, burnishers, concrete grinders, and mechanical strippers.
•
Perform routine and restorative floor care including scrubbing, stripping, sealing, polishing, buffing, and burnishing.
•
Use diamond pads, densifiers, sealers, guards, and appropriate chemical treatments to maintain and protect concrete surfaces.
•
Clean and maintain epoxy and resinous flooring while addressing scratches, scuffs, wear, and minor surface issues.
•
Perform precise floor striping, aisle markings, safety zones, and other facility line markings.
•
Inspect flooring for cracks, spalling, damaged joints, peeling coatings, surface deterioration, and potential safety hazards.
•
Report significant floor damage, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to Facilities Management.
•
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of floor care equipment.
•
Properly handle, store, and use industrial cleaning chemicals according to company procedures.
•
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas during and after maintenance activities.
•
Work safely around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
•
Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, sanitation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
