Curvion Blue is a high-performance revenue operations and sales augmentation company that helps businesses build, optimize, and scale their revenue engines.
We operate in a fast-moving environment with numerous companies, brands, offers, sales teams, vendors, and revenue relationships moving through our financial systems. Our accounting function needs to be accurate, organized, proactive, and capable of handling complexity at scale.
We’re looking for a Staff Accountant who is more than a transaction processor. We need someone who can own day-to-day accounting responsibilities, manage a high volume of financial activity, reconcile complex transactions, accurately administer commissions, and identify issues before they become problems.
Nice to have
Experience in an agency, BPO, outsourced accounting firm, SaaS company, sales organization, marketplace, or another high-volume financial environment is highly preferred.
Position Overview
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and well-documented financial records across Curvion Blue’s operations.
This role supports a high-volume, multi-company financial environment where billing, revenue, payments, and sales commissions flow across dozens of external companies, brands, offers, and revenue relationships.
The Staff Accountant will own or support core accounting workflows across:

Accounts payable

Accounts receivable

Billing and invoicing

Revenue reconciliation

Sales commissions

Payroll and commission schedules
•
Credit cards and expenses
•
Cash and banking
•
Account reconciliations
•
Month-end close
•
Financial reporting support
The right person is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently. They should be able to look across large amounts of financial data and quickly identify when something doesn’t tie out, doesn’t make sense, or doesn’t match the underlying agreement.

“What should this number be, and why isn’t it?”
rather than simply entering what is in front of you.

What You’ll Own
Accounts Payable
•
Maintain accurate AP records and trackers as invoices are received.
•
Review invoices for accuracy, coding, approvals, and appropriate documentation.
•
Process electronic payments and checks according to established approval procedures.
•
Maintain accurate vendor records and contact information.
•
Collect and maintain current W-9s and applicable vendor documentation.
•
Validate vendor banking information before electronic payments are initiated.
•
Monitor outstanding payables and ensure payments are processed on schedule.
•
Identify unusual, duplicate, or potentially fraudulent transactions and escalate appropriately.
Accounts Receivable & Billing
•
Create and distribute invoices according to established billing schedules and agreements.
•
Reconcile customer payments against invoices and supporting documentation.
•
Maintain accurate customer and company records.
•
Monitor outstanding receivables and support collection efforts.
•
Investigate payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, short payments, and billing variances.
•
Reconcile amounts billed and collected against applicable contracts, SOWs, agreements, or other supporting documentation.
•
Identify billing issues before they become larger collection or revenue problems.
•
Support accurate revenue reporting across multiple companies and revenue streams.
Sales Commissions
•
Prepare and maintain commission schedules across multiple companies, brands, offers, and compensation structures.
•
Calculate commissions accurately based on applicable agreements, sales activity, payment status, and other compensation requirements.
•
Reconcile commission calculations against source data and supporting documentation.
•
Investigate discrepancies between sales activity, revenue collected, and commissions owed.
•
Maintain accurate records of commission calculations and supporting documentation.
•
Prepare commission schedules for review and approval.
•
Coordinate with internal stakeholders when commission information is incomplete or inconsistent.
•
Identify recurring commission issues and recommend process improvements.
Payroll & Compensation
•
Prepare payroll and commission schedules for review and approval.
•
Process approved payroll accurately and according to established deadlines.
•
Reconcile payroll activity against accounting records.
•
Review variable compensation calculations and supporting documentation for accuracy.
•
Investigate discrepancies and escalate unresolved issues promptly.
•
Maintain appropriate documentation for payroll and compensation transactions.
Credit Cards & Expenses
•
Enter and categorize credit card transactions accurately.
•
Collect and maintain receipts and supporting documentation.
•
Reconcile credit card activity to monthly statements.
•
Identify missing receipts, unusual transactions, duplicate charges, or coding discrepancies.
•
Ensure credit card payments are processed by their due dates.
•
Reconcile employee reimbursements against supporting documentation.
Cash & Banking
•
Reconcile bank transactions to accounting records and supporting documentation.
•
Investigate discrepancies and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
•
Monitor cash activity and identify unusual or unexpected transactions.
•
Maintain accurate cash flow reporting and forecasts.
•
Reconcile intercompany activity where applicable.
•
Ensure bank and cash balances are properly reflected in the financial records.
Month-End Close
•
Own assigned components of the month-end close process and meet established deadlines.
•
Perform initial P&L reviews and identify unusual fluctuations or inconsistencies.
•
Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
•
Reconcile balance sheet accounts to source documents and subledgers.
•
Review financial activity for completeness and accuracy.
•
Prepare draft financial reporting packages and supporting schedules.
•
Review financial results against contracts, invoices, payroll, commissions, and other source documentation.
•
Roll forward recurring schedules and maintain accurate month-end workbooks.
•
Support quarterly and annual accounting requirements, including sales tax and year-end reporting.
•
Document changes to processes and accounting procedures.
Financial Accuracy & Controls
You will be expected to serve as an additional layer of quality control within the accounting function.
That means you will:

Independently own recurring accounting responsibilities.

Consistently maintain accurate AP, AR, billing, commission, banking, credit card, and reconciliation workflows.

Demonstrate strong command of the company’s accounting systems and processes.

Reliably manage multiple companies, revenue streams, and competing priorities.
First 90 Days

Reliably own assigned accounting functions with minimal oversight.
•
Consistently deliver accurate work on time, including during month-end close.

Accurately manage commission and revenue reconciliation across a high volume of transactions.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications
Required
•
3+ years of accounting experience.
•
Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
•
Experience with AP, AR, billing, reconciliations, and month-end close.
•
Experience working with high-volume financial transactions.
•
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
•
Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
•
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly Preferred
•
Experience with sales commissions or variable compensation.
•
Experience reconciling revenue, payments, commissions, or billing across multiple companies or revenue streams.
•
Experience in an agency, BPO, outsourced accounting, fractional accounting, SaaS, marketplace, or sales environment.
•
Experience working with US-based companies or US GAAP.
•
Experience managing financial activity across multiple entities or business relationships.
•
Experience with contract/SOW-based billing.
•
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
•
Experience with systems such as Gusto, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Stripe, or similar financial platforms.
•
Experience supporting a rapidly growing company.
