About the company
St John of God Ballarat Hospital is one of Victoria’s largest regional private hospitals and offers an extensive range of acute services for the community. While the hospital has existed since the early 19000s, the facility has continually been expanded to ensure modern services, and equipment are available to meet the needs of the community. A redevelopment is currently underway at the hospital which will add a new 10-bed critical/intensive care unit, central sterile services department (CSSD), four operating theatres, a 30-bed inpatient ward, four additional operating.
Your role
Join our caring and collaborative team as a Casual Ward Clerk and help create a positive experience for patients and visitors every day.
Responsibilities
As an integral member of the nursing team, you will provide administrative, reception, and coordination support to ensure the smooth operation of the ward. Working closely with clinical staff, you will welcome patients, assist with admissions processes, coordinate requests and services, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care through excellent customer service and efficient administration.
This role is ideal for a highly organised individual who enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a team environment, and is committed to providing exceptional service in a healthcare setting.
Shifts are rotating and across the ward, with flexible working hours available. Weekday and weekend work is available.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to maintaining confidentiality, and well-developed administrative and computer skills. You will be organised, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a busy team environment while providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Salary $39.08 - $40.20 AUD per hour (casual loading included) plus 12% superannuation
