About the company
School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) is an interdisciplinary joint school under
College of Engineering and College of Science at NTU Singapore. The Ultrafast Multidimensional Optical Spectroscopy Lab in the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology specializes in using Ultrafast Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy, especially Coherent Two-Dimensional Electronic Spectroscopy (2DES), to study the femtosecond-picosecond dynamics of various complex systems in Chemistry, Biology & Nanoscience.
About the role
We are looking for a Research Fellowto be involved in the development and application of multidimensional optical spectroscopy to study various complex systems, including the ultrafast excitation energy transfer processes in photosynthetic systems, and spectral diffusion dynamics of complex molecular systems.
Responsibilities
Develop and Implement research projects on Coherent Two-Dimensional Electronic Spectroscopy (2DES),
Key Responsibilities:
•
Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot ultrafast laser systems, including the Regenerative Amplifier Laser System, White Light Generator, and ultrafast two-dimensional (2D) optical spectrometer.
•
Design, conduct, and analyze experiments involving ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy and multidimensional optical spectroscopy.
•
Perform computational simulations to investigate ultrafast dynamics and energy transfer processes in biological systems.
•
Prepare and draft research manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
•
Guide and mentor PhD, postgraduate, and undergraduate students in research activities.
Job Requirements:
•
PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Biophysics, or a related discipline.
•
Demonstrated research experience in ultrafast nonlinear optical spectroscopy, with successful completion of relevant projects and publications as the first/main author in international peer-reviewed journals.
•
Strong knowledge of laser optical techniques and hands-on experience with advanced time-resolved optical spectroscopic methods, including ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy and multidimensional optical spectroscopy.
•
Proven ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrafast laser systems, including regenerative amplifier laser systems, Optical Parametric Amplifiers (OPA), and White Light Generators (WLG).
•
Established publication record as an author or co-author in optics, chemical physics, physical chemistry, or related fields.
•
Experience with ultrafast optical pulse shapers is highly desirable.
