About the role
Lumentum Operations LLC seeks a highly motivated Manufacturing Process Development Engineer to design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for our advanced optical and photonic products. This role focuses on improving efficiency, yield, and quality in a high-volume production environment.
Responsibilities
•
Lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and methodologies from concept to production.
•
Optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve yield, throughput, cost, and quality, utilizing statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE).
•
Design and execute experiments to characterize process parameters, identify critical factors, and establish robust process windows.
•
Collaborate with R&D, product design, and NPI teams to ensure manufacturability of new products and smooth transitions into production.
•
Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
•
Perform root cause analysis for process deviations, yield loss, and quality issues, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
•
Evaluate and qualify new materials, equipment, and suppliers to support manufacturing process improvements.
•
Provide technical support and training to manufacturing operators and technicians.
•
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Job Qualifications and Education:
•
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $89,650 – $166,000USD. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications
