The chosen candidate for this position will be part of a strong software engineering team and responsible for leading and delivering high quality software solutions using agile methodology and Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Mongo DB, Docker, Kubernetes, React Native on AWS cloud environment.
Program Overview -
The Transfer Solutions group is responsible for designing, building, and operating the technology that powers Mastercard’s next-generation payment applications—domestic, Cross–Border, and Bill Payments.

The Mastercard® Cross Border platform Pro Finance and services enable secure, near real-time payment transfers to and from billions of card, bank and digital accounts globally. Program Participants (banks, businesses, digital players and more) can modernise the way they send money cross-border, making funds available to recipients almost instantly. Mastercard Cross Border is proven to increase user spend and engagement, strengthening core business performance.
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with hands-on development role in Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Mongo DB, React & AWS technology stack to join our Pune team, focusing on the highest standard of quality application development for our Cross-Border payments platform, specifically in the Pro Finance domain.

Requirements
What we are looking for?
• This position is responsible for providing application design, development, testing, deployment and support within program. Specifically, this person should provide exceptional application development capability to all digital projects.
• This is a career opportunity to be a application engineer providing global digital solutions for one of the most well-known brands in the world. Passion, rigor, and drive are required.
Role & Skills
• Develop application code and unit test in the Rest Web Services, Spring, Spring Boot, Java-J2EE and related open-source technologies
• Develop User interfaces for Modern Rich Internet Applications with the latest NodeJS based Front End Technologies like React or Vue
• Well versed with Cloud technologies - CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Mongo DB, PostgreSQL, Hazelcast, AWS
• Hands-on Experience with RESTful services
• Responsible for leading design & development of micro-services built using Sprint-boot on Cloud.
• Perform product analysis and development tasks of increasingly complex nature which may require extensive research and analysis.
• Ensure high performance applications which are secure and scalable
• Strong expertise with HTML, CSS, JS and writing cross-browser compatible code.
• Well verse with Bitbucket and GitHub and like cloud-based hosting services for version control repositories, primarily using the Git system
• Integrate content feeds via API, JSON, XML, and RSS from both internal and external sources.
• Hands-on design & development experience on Cloud. Exposure to Pivotal Cloud Foundry will be an added advantage.
• Experience in JavaScript build tools like grunt or gulp
• Familiar with testing frameworks (Ex. JUnit, Karate, Testerman, Cucumber, Jest, Jasmine)
• Performance Test using Dynatrace
• Document application components for support and training materials for MasterCard Quality
• Assure and follow highest Quality Control processes.
Nice to have
Best Add-on AI Skills -
Blending AI integration with core engineering principles, specifically prompt engineering, LLM API utilization, and AI-powered debugging/refactoring. Mastery of Python for AI workflows and using tools like GitHub Copilot or JetBrains AI is crucial for productivity.
Need to have strong knowledge in one or more of the technology skills mentioned above and exposure to the other skills enough to learn on the job and scale to pick up responsibility of a full stack lead developer.
