Job Details:
The IT Data Engineer II advances Tyson’s enterprise analytics capabilities by designing, developing, and supporting scalable data solutions within Tyson’s cloud analytics ecosystem. This role applies data architecture principles to build data pipelines, dimensional models, and reporting solutions using Tyson-approved platforms and patterns. Their skill set includes developing in big data technologies and enhancing their theoretical knowledge of data warehousing in an analytics environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
•
Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using SQL, Scripting, and Tyson-approved data engineering frameworks.
•
Develop and maintain ELT/ETL processes utilizing Cloud Platform services.
•
Build and support enterprise data warehouse solutions following Tyson dimensional modeling standards, including Star Schema and Kimball methodologies.
•
Develop and optimize data models, views, stored procedures, and transformations to improve data performance and usability.
•
Collaborate with business partners, product owners, and analytics teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
•
Build, deploy, and support data visualization solutions that effectively communicate data insights.
•
Optimize cloud resource utilization and participate in cost management initiatives.
•
Contribute to data architecture reviews and recommend improvements to data structures, integration patterns, and reporting solutions.
•
Assist with streaming, near real-time, and batch data integration initiatives where applicable.
•
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver business value through data solutions.
•
Perform other assigned duties consistent with Tyson Foods’ mission, values, and business objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Certification(s): Any relevant IT Certification.
Experience: 1+ years relevant or practical experience.
