Job Summary
The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine and is responsible for maintaining part quality, safety standards & company equipment’s.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY:-
•
Follow all safety rules and policies provided by NOV.
•
Produce/Machine threaded Connections & parts as per the provided drawing and program.
•
Inspect and verify that each thread & part is generated as per the provided specification.
•
Follow all the guidelines provided by the Superintendent.
•
Maintain a neat and dean working environment.
•
Responsible for all company equipment’s care, use, and protection. Know, understand, and follow all company and department safety rules.
•
Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent.
•
Perform job duties accurately and responsibly. Verify part and work order.
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:-
•
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments.
•
Study First article parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to Machining products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
•
Math Skills: Good math skills will help CNC machinists understand complex instructions, w schematics work, and ensure items are designed and built correctly.
•
Problem-Solving Skills: - CNC machinists will need to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output, and how to fix errors.
•
Attention to Detail: - CNC machinists will work with precision equipment. Being off by millimeters & Inches (Thousandth of an inch.) could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required.

Mechanical and Technical Skills: - Machines controlled by computers will need operators who understand CAD/CAM technology.
•
Stamina: - CNC machinists often work long hours doing repetitive movements.
•

Qualifications (Education/No. of Years of Experience) :-
•
Industrial / Manufacturing Diploma post-High School or vocational training courses in mechanical engineering with 2 years of experience.
•
Work experience in Turner, Machinist, and Fitter trades.
