About the role
Ryan is looking for software engineering interns to help build the platform capabilities that enable development teams across the firm to deliver applications addressing our clients’ needs. Our engineering teams support Tax.com, the technology engine powering Ryan’s tax teams.
You will contribute to shared services, Portal experiences, reusable components, and developer tools while gaining hands-on experience with cloud solutions. Working alongside engineers and collaborating with product and design, you will learn how enterprise applications are developed, tested, secured, and delivered. You will use AI tools to accelerate learning, prototype ideas, and rapidly iterate as you contribute to a defined engineering project.
Our primary technologies are .NET and C#, React and TypeScript, and Microsoft Azure, with some exposure to Python.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•
Develop and improve software features, shared services, reusable application components, or developer tools with guidance from experienced engineers.
•
Build and integrate APIs, shared libraries, and React single-page applications that support multiple Ryan development teams.
•
Explore Microsoft Azure services and contribute to development, testing, or deployment workflows.
•
Use AI tools to accelerate learning, prototyping, coding, and debugging; review and validate your work with the team.
•
Write automated tests, investigate defects, and participate in code reviews to improve software quality and reliability.
•
Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to understand user needs, demonstrate progress, and incorporate feedback.
•
Document what you build so other teams can understand, adopt, and maintain it.
Education and Experience:
•
Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related study.
