Job Description:
Build your skills. Build your career.
Miller Electric is looking for an Entry-Level Fabricator to join our Components Division. This is an opportunity to learn the skilled trade of metal fabrication while working alongside experienced fabricators and gaining hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment.
You’ll learn how to operate and set up equipment used to transform sheet metal into components, including turrets, punch presses, press brakes, lasers, shears, spot welders, and PEM nut machines. You’ll also develop skills in reading blueprints, using measuring tools, inspecting parts, and understanding how fabrication processes work together.
No previous fabrication experience is required. If you’re mechanically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, are willing to learn, and want to develop a skilled-trade career, we’ll provide the training and experience to help you build those skills.
As you develop your skills and demonstrate proficiency, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your capabilities through cross-training throughout the fabrication department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•
Assist with the setup and operation of fabrication equipment, including turrets, punching machines, presses, press brakes, lasers, shears, spot welders, and PEM nut machines.
•
Learn and apply proper operating procedures for fabrication equipment under the direction of experienced fabricators and leadership.
•
Read and interpret basic blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material, and production documentation with training and guidance.
•
Use basic measuring tools, such as tape measures and other precision measuring devices, to verify part dimensions and support quality requirements.
•
Perform in-process and finished-part inspections to ensure work meets established quality standards and specifications.
•
Safely handle, stage, and move materials and components throughout the fabrication process.
•
Follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
•
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
•
Participate in cross-training within the Fabrication and Mechanical Components departments to develop knowledge and proficiency in multiple processes.
•
Communicate effectively with team members, trainers, and supervisors regarding production, quality, safety, and equipment concerns.
•
Demonstrate continued progress in learning fabrication processes and operating equipment.
•
Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
