Remotely manage data center infrastructure (power, cooling, hardware, cabling, tools/supplies, etc.) to provide maximum availability of services.
Perform requirements gathering and planning for new hardware installs (i.e. physical location, power and cooling requirements, cabling, etc.).
Oversee Datacenter Managed Services providers, including management of onsite technicians.
Develop and maintain data center standards and other documentation.
Interface directly with colocation providers and hardware vendors (questions, issues or new requests).
Work with other teams to coordinate data center work (installation of equipment, cable patching, auditing, etc.).
Perform capacity planning activities within the data center (space, cooling, power, cabling plant).
Evaluate industry trends and recommend changes and improvements within the Data Center and hardware space.
Data center and hardware troubleshooting and break-fix.
Assist with shipping and receiving of equipment.
Maintain inventory (serialized assets and consumables).
Occasional travel to data centers/Jump offices.
Other duties as assigned or needed.
