Description
The Analyst builds inventory valuation models using data collection, due diligence, and KPI-driven reconciliation to determine Net Orderly Liquidation Value (NOLV) for Asset-Based Lending (ABL) decisions. The inventory appraisal report is provided to support lender decisions.
Job Responsibilities
•
Provides analytical support for inventory valuation reports, including due diligence, analysis, and data collection to ensure the accuracy of supplied information from the client.
•
Works in accordance with established methodologies and utilizes standard models and templates with direction.
•
Communicates directly, as instructed, with bank clients and companies to understand company provided information and operational challenges.
•
Assists with researching the consumer products, industrial, retail or other market sectors, as assigned.
•
Performs company and industry analysis on key performance indicators such as inventory productivity, gross margin, and operating expenses to help determine value.
•
Develops a qualitative understanding of nuances that may affect asset values, and reviews findings with company management and clients.
•
May participate in travel, job inspections, and/or client meetings with a senior-level Appraiser, including taking photographs of assets and providing notes or dictation.
•
Produces the final appraisal report of quantitative and qualitative findings.
•
Participates in learning opportunities to become proficient in and adhere to USPAP standards, particularly as they apply to inventory valuations.
•
Maintains Gordon Brothers’ Appraisal Application database to ensure accurate and timely contact, company, and recovery information.

Education, Experience
•
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or related area of study required.
•
1-2 years’ experience in a business, financial, audit, lending, or consulting environment preferred; the experience can include relevant internships.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
•
Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
•
Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel, including pivot tables, macros, advanced functions and formulas.
•
Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets; understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies is preferred.
•
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•
Due diligence, data collection and reconciliation.
•
A high degree of integrity and business acumen.
•
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
•
Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to manage multiple projects
•
Strong attention to detail.
•
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
•
Periodic travel may be required.
