Job Description
Legal, tax and compliance professionals in Australia and New Zealand are changing how they work. AI is reshaping what their clients expect, new regulation is raising the stakes, while competition to serve them is intensifying. Thomson Reuters (TR) is at the centre of that shift, and we are looking for a marketing leader to accelerate growth. As Marketing Director, ANZ, you will set the regional marketing strategy and be accountable for its contribution to pipeline, revenue and customer growth. You will lead the field marketing team and serve as a strategic partner to the ANZ leadership team. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, AEM, you will be a key member of the regional marketing leadership team, with the opportunity to transform how marketing delivers commercial impact.
The Marketing Director, ANZ, turns regional and segment priorities into locally relevant programmes that strengthen pipeline, revenue and market position across key segments and product portfolios. Serving customers from large enterprises to small businesses, you will bring a customer-led, commercial approach to complex buying journeys and a global matrix. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set direction, drive execution and work closely with Segment, Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success, Partnerships and regional marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
In this opportunity as Marketing Director, Australia and New Zealand, you will:
•
Set ANZ marketing direction and investment: Own the strategy, plan and budget, aligning priorities with the ANZ leadership team and regional and segment goals.
•
Deliver pipeline and revenue growth: Partner with Sales to identify priority accounts, buying groups and pipeline gaps, and agree clear targets for marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline and revenue.
•
Lead account and segment-based programmes: Build integrated programmes for priority accounts and segments that improve engagement, pipeline progression and win rates.
•
Create demand through field programmes: Accelerate pipeline through executive roundtables, briefings, webinars and partner-led programmes.
•
Localise campaigns and launches: Adapt regional and segment campaigns for local audiences, channels, proof points and market timing.
•
Strengthen market presence and thought leadership: Develop customer stories, locally relevant content and sales enablement with Corporate Communications and PR.
•
Maximise events and sponsorships: Set commercial objectives and measure outcomes for every investment, including Thomson Reuters’ flagship customer conference.
•
Expand influence in professional communities: Build relationships with professional bodies, industry associations and customer communities to increase audience access, credibility and market insight.
•
Grow and lead a high-performing field marketing team: Lead a small team across Australia and New Zealand, creating a culture of accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement.
•
Champion AI adoption and transform how marketing works: Champion experimentation and AI-enabled ways of working to improve speed, effectiveness and commercial impact.
•
Establish a disciplined operating rhythm: Manage agencies, vendors, budgets and timelines, and connect activity to pipeline, conversion and revenue through clear reporting.
•
Shape regional planning: Represent ANZ customer and market needs, advising leaders on opportunities, risks and investment priorities.
Required Qualifications
You’re a strong fit for the role if you bring:
•
10+ years in B2B marketing, including leadership of field, regional or integrated marketing teams and substantial experience in the ANZ market.
•
A record of delivering measurable pipeline and revenue growth through integrated field, event, account-based and content programmes.
•
Experience building account-based programmes for strategic enterprise accounts, with measurable engagement and pipeline impact.
•
Experience translating regional or global campaigns into locally relevant messaging, content, channels and activation.
•
Strong understanding of how professional and enterprise buyers in ANZ make decisions, including the roles of buying committees, procurement, risk, trust, peers and partners.
•
Credibility as a commercial partner to Sales and business leaders, with the judgement to set priorities, challenge assumptions and turn shared goals into results.
•
Inclusive people leadership that builds accountable, commercially minded teams.
Preferred Qualifications
•
Experience marketing professional information or software to legal, corporate, tax or compliance audiences.
•
A senior network across the ANZ legal, corporate, tax or compliance community.
•
Experience driving adoption of AI products within an existing customer base.
•
Familiarity with Salesforce, Eloqua, 6sense and Power BI.
•
Experience building productive relationships with professional bodies, industry associations and senior market stakeholders.
•
Strong writing and editorial judgement, with the confidence to represent Thomson Reuters with customers and in the market.
•
The analytical ability to connect marketing activity to pipeline, conversion, expansion and revenue, using data and AI tools to improve targeting and execution.
•
The ability to balance market strategy with hands-on execution, prioritise investment and build repeatable programmes.
