How it works · October 11, 2026What we do with your data
Our privacy policy is the binding document. This post walks through it in plain language. If the two ever disagree, the policy is what counts, and we will correct this post. What we collect
•
Your account: your email address, your name and your sign-in details. Clerk, our sign-in provider, holds them.
•
Your career material: the résumés you upload or paste, the career profile you build, the jobs you tailor for, and the tailored résumés, cover letters, answers and chat messages that come out of it. If you use interview practice, the transcript of the call and the AI feedback on your answers.
•
How you use Seekless: pages, searches and feature events, through PostHog, our analytics tool. Cloudflare carries every request to the site.
The rules we hold ourselves to
•
We never sell your data for money, and your résumé is never sent to employers, recruiters or advertising platforms. The “Recruiter” inside Seekless is an AI assistant, not a person.
•
Seekless trains no AI models on your data. Every request to an outside AI model goes through OpenRouter, with its setting that restricts the request to providers whose terms bar them from training on the data. Any retention by a provider, for example for abuse monitoring, is governed by that provider’s own terms.
•
AI features ask first. Résumé features in your account run only after you give consent to AI processing, and you can withdraw it in Account settings. The free résumé checker asks you to agree to its notice instead, and keeps nothing: the file is read in memory and discarded.
•
Interview practice processes the live audio and does not record it. Your camera, if you turn it on, stays on your device. The call is kept as a transcript for your report.
Who receives what
The policy names every company that receives your data, and what each one receives. In short:
•
AI models do the writing, checking and searching. OpenRouter routes the requests to Anthropic and Google, which receive the content of each request; to Cerebras, which receives your search query only; and to TypeSafe, which receives your search query and the listings being ranked only. Deepgram turns speech into text and back during interview practice calls.
•
Clerk handles sign-in, Stripe handles payments (card numbers go to Stripe, never to Seekless), and DigitalOcean hosts everything Seekless stores.
•
PostHog receives product analytics. Cloudflare sees every request, including your IP address, whatever your cookie choice.
Advertising, precisely
Seekless measures its ads on Reddit and ChatGPT. Their pixels run only if you allow analytics cookies and your browser does not send Global Privacy Control. Separately, if you arrived from a Reddit ad and then bought Pro, our server reports that purchase to Reddit whatever your cookie choice: the ad’s click identifier, a hashed form of your email address and of your account id, and the amount and currency. Nothing is sent for a purchase whose checkout was opened with Global Privacy Control on.
California law can count that kind of reporting as “sharing” or even a “sale”. That is why we promise that we never sell your data for money, and not a bare “never”. Your résumé, career profile and applications are never part of it.
How long it is kept
•
Your résumés and career data: for as long as your account exists.
•
Analytics and support conversations: up to 24 months.
•
Billing and transaction records: up to 10 years.
•
Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period.
Deleting it
Deleting your account cancels any subscription, deletes your résumés and career data from Seekless’s database straight away, then deletes your sign-in account. It also asks PostHog to delete your analytics profile, which PostHog carries out in the background. We keep a record of the consents you gave, as an audit trail, and counts of AI usage with your account removed from them. Deletion does not reach copies that other services already hold: reports already sent to ad platforms, logs until they expire, encrypted database backups, and Stripe’s billing records.
You can export your data first, from the same page in Account settings.
Questions and requests
Write to [email protected]. An opt-out needs no proof of identity, and we act on it within 15 business days. The privacy policy has the full detail, including your rights under California law, and the cookie policy lists every cookie.
