Water is more than a resource—it’s a shared responsibility. As part of HDR’s Washington Water Business Group, you’ll help shape how communities manage water for generations to come. From delivering safe drinking water and treating wastewater responsibly to developing sustainable supplies and protecting lives and property through flood control, your work will directly advance public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.
We bring together experts across disciplines to solve complex challenges with bold thinking and technical excellence. Whether you’re modernizing aging systems or pioneering new approaches, your contributions will make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to lead change, drive progress, and leave a lasting legacy.
About the Role
HDR’s Washington Drinking Water team is recognized throughout the state for its leadership in planning, designing, and delivering complex water infrastructure—from water system planning and water quality to condition assessment and treatment facility design. As Drinking Water Treatment Business Class Lead, you’ll partner with Water Business Group leadership to shape and grow HDR’s water treatment practice across Washington, stepping into a highly visible role at the center of some of the region’s most impactful public infrastructure work.
You’ll play an integral technical role on multidisciplinary teams, manage and mentor talented staff, and help win new work with both new and existing clients. Leading through mentoring, coaching, and delegation is central to this role, as is maintaining focus on HDR’s growth strategy. You’ll also collaborate with regional and national technical leaders, extending your expertise to pursuits and projects beyond Washington. Candidates who are active in industry organizations—serving on committees and presenting at conferences—will find this role a natural fit for their leadership ambitions.
As an employee-owned company, we invest in our people: promoting physical and mental wellness, delivering meaningful employee experiences, and offering growth paths in technical practice, business development, and project management—whichever direction matches your goals.
