Description
1.
Assists pathologists in the performance of autopsies including receipt, identification, release and move of the deceased.
2.
Maintains morgue, autopsy room, gross-in area and equipment.
3.
Logs, codes and assigns accession numbers on all cases and specimens received for identification and recording purposes. Assesses order acceptability.
4.
Receives, prepares, processes, reagents, autopsy/surgical tissues, and stores supplies, stock rotation and monitoring, disposes of supplies.
5.
Maintains equipment quality control including calibrations and back-up instrumentation.
6.
Provides documentation, inventory, orders, and files.
7.
Prepares and/or assists in the research development, policies and procedures development and process improvement.
8.
Performs other duties as assigned.
