•
Develop and maintain product specifications, including solid models, configured engineering bill of materials, and detailed engineering drawings.
•
Support engineers in developing CAD concepts and basic design solutions for assigned EBU components and assemblies.
•
Apply mechanical design principles and working knowledge of product systems to develop accurate and practical design solutions.
•
Consider product requirements, operating environments, interfaces, clearances, manufacturability, and lifecycle requirements when developing models and drawings.
•
Escalate complex design or technical decisions to the responsible engineer or technical lead.
Engineering Drawings & GD&T
•
Create and revise production drawings using Creo, including dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, notes, materials, and other required engineering specifications.
•
Ensure drawings accurately communicate design intent and manufacturing and inspection requirements.
•
Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles appropriately to product designs.
•
Ensure models and drawings comply with applicable Cummins, industry, national, and international standards.
•
Participate in Drawing Quality Reviews and incorporate review feedback into engineering documentation.
CAD Quality & Self-Check
•
Perform detailed self-checks of Creo models and drawings before formal review.
•
Verify geometry, dimensions, interfaces, clearances, drawing details, GD&T, and design requirements.
•
Identify and correct discrepancies, errors, and quality issues before release.
•
Maintain high standards of CAD and drawing quality through adherence to established design practices and procedures.
Windchill & Product Data Management
•
Use Windchill and applicable CAD data management tools to manage models, drawings, associated product data, revisions, and lifecycle activities.
•
Maintain configuration control, data integrity, security, and traceability of product artifacts.
•
Establish and maintain product artifact baselines in accordance with configuration management processes.
•
Support the release, tracking, control, and communication of product changes from concept through obsolescence.
Engineering Change Management
•
Process and implement approved engineering changes, including CR/CN/CA activities, in Creo models, drawings, and associated product data.
•
Complete required Windchill activities while maintaining accurate revision and configuration control.
•
Process internal engineering work requests in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
•
Ensure changes are accurately reflected across applicable product documentation and configurations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•
Engage with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, and other functional teams as required.
•
Obtain and incorporate engineering inputs to develop accurate product specifications and documentation.
•
Communicate technical information, requirements, risks, and work status clearly to relevant stakeholders.
•
Support effective communication of product design intent across engineering, manufacturing, and inspection functions.
Delivery & Continuous Improvement
•
Complete assigned design and drafting activities within agreed quality, scope, and timing expectations.
•
Communicate risks, technical concerns, and potential delays at an early stage.
•
Progressively work with reduced supervision as technical capability and product knowledge develop.
•
Learn from drawing reviews, checker feedback, quality issues, and completed assignments and apply lessons learned to future work.
•
Participate in maintaining and improving design standards, practices, tools, and processes.
•
