About the company
Oyster Bay Public School is situated within a close-knit community in the Sutherland Shire, in Sydney’s southern suburbs. The school currently caters for 417 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, with enrolments projected to increase to approximately 450 in 2027. The student population includes 2% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 8% students from English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) backgrounds.
Oyster Bay Public School operates in a unique split-site setting, with a dedicated K-2 campus located approximately 500 metres from the Years 3-6 campus. School resources and funding are strategically and equitably allocated across both sites to meet the diverse learning and wellbeing needs of all students.
The school enjoys strong community partnerships, supported by a highly active and dedicated Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association. Through initiatives such as the annual Art & Craft Festival, the P&C raises significant funds to support school improvement projects and enhance learning opportunities for students.
Students benefit from a broad range of extracurricular opportunities, including choir, dance, cultural activities and both recreational and competitive sporting programs. A range of targeted, evidence-informed literacy interventions and programs, including SpellEx, InitiaLit, MiniLit and MacqLit, support student learning and achievement across K-6.
The school maintains a strong focus on explicit teaching, evidence-informed practice and the purposeful use of assessment data to drive continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy outcomes. Underpinned by a commitment to inclusion, student wellbeing and high expectations, Oyster Bay Public School strives to ensure that every student is known, valued and cared for.
The school’s motto, ‘Each for All’, reflects its enduring commitment to collective responsibility, belonging and success for every learner.
