1 Knowledge of traffic laws, City Personnel Rules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Dallas Police and Dallas Fire & Rescue Departments, Texas Code, Driver Safety Administrative Directives (3-3 Driver & Equipment Safety Program & 3-49 Drug and Alcohol Testing of Applicants and Employees), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), City Safety Program, etc.
2 Knowledge of motor vehicle law enforcement, traffic direction, interviewing, report writing and presenting court testimony.
3 Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of accident investigation.
4 Knowledge of field investigation and accident reconstruction.
5 Ability to develop administrative, technical and investigative skills.
6 Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
7 Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public in all situations.
8 Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
9 Ability to produce reports outlining root cause analysis.
10 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
11 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Safety, Criminal Justice or related Technical field.
5 years of experience in safety, criminal justice, or similar work.
