About the role
Ciena is advancing communications networking by uniting optical and packet technologies for more than 1,000 customers across 60+ countries. This role contributes to data-driven North Bound Interfaces, including REST, NETCONF, and gRPC, with exposure to YANG-based modeling, AI workflows, and software development for advanced networking solutions.
How you will make an impact:
•
Develop advanced features based on YANG modeling and AI workflows.
•
Author software designs for product capabilities.
•
Contribute to software development and software validation activities.
•
Create and maintain technical documentation.
•
Integrate existing platform and hardware capabilities.
•
Provide basic status reporting for individual work or that of a small team.
The must haves:
•
Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
•
Experience: 4+ years’ experience in relevant technology.
•
Application of C programming, debugging, and troubleshooting on the Linux platform.
•
Relevant software development experience, including product deliveries of advanced networking software systems.
•
Carrier-class product design and delivery experience with optical transport products/switches.
•
Demonstrable self-initiative and can-do attitude.
•
