What you will do
•
Design mechanical components, assemblies, and fixtures for robotic systems.
•
Develop CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for production.
•
Prototype, assemble, and test mechanical systems on real hardware.
•
Work closely with electronics and software teams to integrate complete robotic systems.
•
Improve designs for manufacturability, reliability, and ease of assembly.
What we are looking for
•
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
•
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360.
•
Strong understanding of machine design, mechanisms, and engineering fundamentals.
•
Familiarity with manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing.
•
Ability to rapidly prototype, troubleshoot, and iterate mechanical designs.
Preferred background
•
Experience designing robotic mechanisms or industrial equipment.
•
Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
•
Experience with FEA or basic structural analysis tools.
•
Hands-on experience building robots, competition projects, or engineering prototypes.
•
Participation in Formula Student, robotics clubs, maker projects, or hardware hackathons.
