Description
In this highly visible, hands-on role, you will support Operations and Engineering in developing and sustaining some of the highest quality products in the world. You will own the quality systems framework at Asia-based suppliers across the full product lifecycle, from early development through mass production and end of life. You will build, audit, and continuously improve supplier quality management systems so that process control, change management, traceability, and corrective action are robust and sustainable. You will also lead on-site problem-solving, metrology review and development, and improvements in supplier yield, process capability, and product field performance.
Responsibilities
•
Quality Systems Development
•
Define, implement, and maintain supplier quality system requirements, ensuring that suppliers have documented, effective, and consistently followed procedures for process control, inspection, handling nonconformance, and continuous improvement.
•
Assess supplier quality management systems against Apple requirements and industry standards, identify gaps, and drive structured improvement roadmaps with clear ownership and timelines.
•
Establish and enforce robust change management, including engineering change control, process change notification, and requalification, to prevent unintended quality impact.
•
Ensure end-to-end traceability of materials, processes, equipment, and test data, from sub-tier materials through final shipment, to support rapid containment and root cause investigation.
•
Verify supplier document and record control, calibration and gauge management, operator training and certification, and equipment maintenance systems.
•
New Product Introduction (NPI)
•
Support cross-functional stage-gate reviews in each phase of new product introduction. This includes key sub-tier supplier capability, process and line readiness, quality control plans, reliability test plans, gauge R&R, and correlations to ensure end-to-end quality coverage.
•
Review and approve supplier FMEAs, control plans, and critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics to confirm that risks are identified and mitigated before ramp.
•
Lead metrology review and development, including measurement system analysis, gauge R&R, fixture and inspection solution design, and cross-site correlation.
•
Supplier Management and Audit
•
Manage supplier resources and run routine system, process, and product audits to detect issues early and ensure the highest levels of quality and reliability are delivered consistently.
•
Track audit findings through closure, verify the effectiveness of corrective actions, and escalate recurring or systemic issues appropriately.
•
Process Control and Continuous Improvement
•
Establish and implement quality plans to ensure proper standards are in place, including incoming, in-process, final inspection, and outgoing quality controls. Drive suppliers to meet ramp targets through yield, UPH, and efficiency improvements.
•
Monitor mass production (MP) yield and process capability trends, perform gap analysis, and work with suppliers to propose and implement improvement actions.
•
Apply SPC and statistical tools to detect process shifts early and to define effective control limits and reaction plans.
•
Lead failure analysis and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) efforts for in-line, outgoing, and field returns, and confirm that root causes are fully addressed and sustained.
•
Analyze field performance data and feed learnings back into design, process, and quality plan improvements.
•
