What you’ll do
As the Manufacturing Engineer, Switchboards, you will own production process control, shop floor efficiency, and facility reliability for switchboard and control panel assembly operations. The position bridges production, engineering, quality, and facilities to ensure on-time delivery, cost control, and consistent product quality across UL891 switchboards, UL67 panel boards, and various control wiring projects. Emphasis is placed on practical execution, on time delivery, continuous improvement, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Where you’ll work
We are an in-office culture, velocity matters when you’re building physical infrastructure, and the best decisions happen in the room. This role is based at GigaEnergy HQ with regular travel to active construction sites across the US.
That said, we will make exceptions for truly exceptional talent. If you’re the right person for this role, we’ll have a conversation about what works.
Responsibilities
•
Ensure safe work practices for all assembly and wiring processes and compliance with applicable safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEEE, etc.)
•
Create, maintain, and continuously improve all production routings for switchboard and panelbaords, ensuring alignment with actual shop floor practices and labor efficiency
•
Establish and enforce standardized work at the direct labor level to drive consistency, reduce variability, wiring, and final assembly
•
Design and implement fixtures, jigs, and tooling improvements to reduce cycle time, improve safety, and lower operational cost in panel and switchboard assembly
•
Lead root cause investigations with Quality control and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring production defects, including wiring errors, torque failures, and fit/finish issues
•
Support materials management, production control, and inventory control activities as needed, including cycle counting, part flow organization, and visual management systems for components (breakers, bus bar, connectors, enclosures, etc.)
•
Work directly with Engineering to resolve production issues in real time and remove constraints impacting on-time delivery (OTD)
•
Support UL891 and UL67 production compliance requirements, ensuring assemblies are built in accordance with listed procedures, UL follow-up service requirements, and applicable NEC/NFPA standards
•
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production, material flow, and facility operations
