Description of Work
About the role
Are you seeking to learn the importance of Data Engineering within the public sector?
The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor is searching for an intern to serve on our Data Analytics Team. Within this internship you will gain hands-on experience through directly working on projects assigned to the Data Engineering Team.
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work on projects that focus on building and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure to support audit and oversight activities. You’ll assist in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes that transform raw data into structured, reliable datasets for downstream analysis. In addition, you’ll help implement data quality checks, improve data workflows, and contribute to the integration of diverse data sources. These projects will give you hands-on experience with data engineering best practices, including automation, scalability, and performance optimization, while supporting real-world audit objectives.
